Before and after: Installation of aluminium windows in Sussex

After our previous blog posts on the benefits of aluminium windows and a gallery showing their versatility, to round off our month’s focus on aluminium windows in Sussex we thought we would show an example of the difference they can make to a property.

Before aluminium window installation

Previously, this property in Haywards Heath had a facade that didn’t look too aesthetically pleasing.

From looking at the old windows, you can see that some of the sight lines are uneven – this is due to the obtrusive secondary double glazing that had been used during a previous renovation of the property (especially evident in the smaller window on the right).

After aluminium window installation

This installation, carried out by Window Wise, saw aluminium sliding sash windows replace the older casement-style windows.

The casement windows had previously replaced older sash windows; the house now has the original style restored, but with a modern, more versatile and quality product.

The residents decided to go for an elegant ‘9-over-1’ window bar design on both the top and bottom window bays. With a consistent design and even sightlines throughout, this aluminium window installation vastly improves the look of this property.

The sliding sash design of the aluminium windows allows the top sashes to be lowered and the bottom sashes to be raised at the same time. This is great for providing ventilation to the rooms, as it allows air to be drawn in from outside through the lower sash and exit via the top sash.

Moreover, both sashes are able to be tilted inwards, meaning both sides of the aluminium sliding sash windows can be cleaned from the inside – no need for ladders!

On the top floor, the window sashes have been fitted with restrictors to limit the amount they can be opened; this has been done to ensure child safety.

One of the best advantages of installing aluminium windows is their fantastic levels of both acoustic and thermal installation. In other words, they can help save money on your heating bills and over time pay for themselves.

And, while on the financial advantages, it’s also worth noting that installing a set of quality modern sash aluminium windows can add extra value to your property.

Although windows like the ones included in this example installation might be at a higher price point than a typical modern casement window (evident on the neighbouring property in the first ‘after’ picture), the extra property value over the alternative is much more than than the additional cost.

This is something backed up by estate agents and is true for almost all properties that have quality, modern sash windows installed.

There you have it – a property improved in both aesthetics and value by the installation of some wonderful sliding sash aluminium windows.
