All too often customers come into our showroom when the weather warms up in June and ask whether we can install a conservatory in time for the summer holidays? In fact, if you want a new conservatory for the summer, now is the time to start planning it.
The first step in creating your new conservatory is to have a design consultation with one of our team. We will listen to what you are looking for and guide you through the many options available, we will also ascertain whether you need planning permission or not, and of course Window Wise can take care of this for you too.
There are lots of decisions to make, so this can take a while. You should allow between 2 and 4 weeks for this stage in the process and longer if you need a bit more time to mull things over or if you need to apply for planning permission.
Once you have decided upon what you are looking for, our Surveyor will visit your home to take the necessary measurements and ensure that everything is structurally sound for the installation.
The majority of your new conservatory is manufactured off-site.
This is by far the longest stage and, depending on demand, can take up to 12 weeks though we do endeavour to speed this time frame up where we can.
When your conservatory is ready, our team will install it. The construction time can vary quite considerably, depending on the amount of preparatory work required on site and the project involved.
You should allow 3 to 6 weeks for the installation depending on works involved.
If we add up all the stages, you should allow up to 16 weeks from the moment you step into our showroom to the completion of your new conservatory.
If you want your conservatory to be ready for the summer, the best time of year to plan it is in the autumn or winter. This gives you plenty of time to make all the decisions and place your order by early in the new year.
Your beautiful new conservatory can then be installed in the spring, ready for when the weather starts to warm up.
(Having said that, we’d be happy to assist you in planning your conservatory at any time of year!)
