The roof

The roof is the most important structural element in any orangery because it provides strength, stability and ventilation. To ensure you get the maximum enjoyment from your new orangery, all Window Wise orangeries are fitted with Ultraframe roofs.

Ultraframe are the acknowledged international leaders in the design and manufacture of conservatory and orangery roofs. Every roofing system carries a 25 year BBA (British Board of Agrément) life expectancy. With over a million roof installations performing day in, day out in the UK, you can be sure that an Ultraframe orangery will give you years of pleasure and add to the value of your home.

To flood your home with natural light, orangery roofs are fitted with Ultrasky lanterns or flat skylights. Roof lanterns are the traditional choice for orangeries, adding a sense of grandeur. Skylights are an elegant option for contemporary homes or where a lower profile is needed.

The walls

The wall product you choose will depend on the style of your Orangery, the location, it’s intended use and your own personal preference.

Dwarf brick build cavity walls combined with standard height window frames and french doors are more commonly used however low level or even full height window frames combined with brick piers and either patio doors or the superb concertina doors can provide a striking design.

The base

A solid foundation is the key to any build and you can trust Window Wise to take care of this for you. From site clearance, footings, services, insulated base and rubbish removal we will handle it all.

Orangeries are used as all year round living space requiring electrics and heating to maximise year round use and these can all be accommodated during the building phase.

Our surveyor will visit the site at regular intervals to ensure work is on schedule and deal with any questions you may have.

Roof colours

Window Wise provide the Ultraframe Orangery roof in a choice of nine colours to compliment your choice of windows and doors.

Roof glazing

If you’re looking to bring more light into your home, then a glass roof is the right choice for you. Window Wise offer Climate glazing, which is specially engineered for the needs of an orangery roof.

Climate works by deflecting heat from the sun in the summer to keep the inside of the extension cool and by retaining the warmth from heating appliances in the winter. It also features a true self-cleaning coating that uses the power of the sun to break down organic deposits and rainwater to wash it clean away.

An orangery featuring Climate glass either in Blue, Neutral, Clear or Aqua gives you the optimum glazing solution.

Roof options

We offer a range of optional extras to enable you to personalise your Orangery to your individual requirements.

Ventilation: We can provide different solutions to ensure the perfect climate in your Orangery.

  • Ultraframe trickle ventilation ensures the natural upward movement of warm air to carry moisture to the roof apex allowing it to filter outside.
  • Ultraframe roof vents, highly insulated with a choice of manual or electric openers.

Heating: Consideration should be given to extending your home’s central heating system. Alternatively, you might consider under-floor heating, electric wall heaters or free-standing heating appliances.

Fans: We can supply an extensive range of contemporary and traditional roof ridge mounted fans for gentle air movement. These can be supplied with either a standard pull-chain or infra-red remote control and are available with or without lighting.

Cresting and Finials: You can choose from a variety of give crestings and four final options to personalise the exterior of your Livin Room roof.

Lighting: You can create the perfect ambience using integrated spotlights in the roof pelmet – available in chrome, brass and white finish. The pelmet is also ideal to house built in speakers for your home entertainment system.
