A home transformation story in Bolnore Village

When Mrs W first contacted Window Wise, the request was to simply replace her front door with something more secure, stylish and in keeping with the character of her home.

However, from our initial conversation through to installation, the project soon expanded to include all the windows and also the rear French doors to the property.

Located in Bolnore Village, this lovely home is subject to design guidelines that help preserve the area’s distinctive appearance. Therefore, any replacement windows and doors needed to enhance the home whilst remaining sympathetic to the wider village surroundings.

How it began

To enhance the overall appearance, along with improving security and insulation, we installed one of our Duo Composite double-rebated front doors with sun-burst glazing, finished in elegant Chartwell Green.

A Duo composite door will provide durability, whilst retaining its colour and immaculate condition for many years, regardless of the British weather! Plus, Duo composite doors are steel reinforced for greater strength and security.

Duo doors are double-rebated. This means that the door and the frame overlap one another. This provides a tighter, double seal that further enhances security – and makes the door draught-free and extremely energy-efficient. These doors are also considerably thicker than a single rebate door.

How it continued… over several chapters

This stunning three-storey home in Bolnore Village is blessed with lots of natural light – and this also meant that a total of 17 replacement windows were needed.

We worked closely with our client to complete the project over several carefully planned stages.

This approach allowed the family to spread the investment over an agreed timeframe, whilst still realising the home transformation they wanted. We were pleased to honour the original quotation throughout the phased installation to make this possible.

To ensure this project achieved both Mrs W’s expectations and the design considerations for Bolnore Village, we recommended our PremierGOLD SlimSash PVCu windows featuring the character detailing of surface-mounted, Georgian-style astragal bars.

These windows offer the traditional appearance prized by homeowners in Bolnore Village, whilst delivering the benefits of modern double glazing, low maintenance slimline PVCu fames and exceptional energy efficiency.

The happy ending

To complete the transformation of this pretty, character home, we installed PVCu French doors to the rear of the property – Mrs W chose not to include astragal bars on these doors, to give her an uninterrupted view of her garden.

We’re thrilled to have yet another very happy customer in Bolnore village:

We originally contacted Window Wise just for a new front door, but we were so impressed that we ended up replacing all the windows along with the back door as well! The whole process, from quoting, survey and fitting was seamless and the quality of the products is top-tier.

What really stood out, however, was their integrity. They supported our decision to phase the work over several stages (as we have a lot of windows) and they honoured the original price quote over that time. Professional, reliable and fair – we couldn’t recommend them enough.
