Beautifully authentic replacement windows

We were invited to this period, stone built West Sussex home by new customers to Window Wise.

It was clear from our first impression that the key to this project would be maintaining the traditional character of this unique property.

Mixed blessings

The sheer number of windows within this lovely home were very much a double-edged sword for the owners.

Their scale brings in huge amounts of natural light, and the traditional sliding sash style is a great way to feel connected to the outside, especially in warmer months with the windows wide open.

However, the original windows were draughty, and therefore not energy efficient. Also, having so many wood-framed windows made for a lot of maintenance. Not quite the Forth Bridge, but certainly a lot to keep on top of!

Long-term solution

For our customers, keeping the integrity of the property was paramount, but they also needed a home that was warm, secure, and much easier to maintain.

Our PVCu sliding sash windows provided the answer.

These windows feature a realistic wood effect that is very difficult to distinguish from genuine timber.

PVCu sliding sash windows provide outstanding thermal efficiency, with an energy ‘A-rating’, so they are completely draught-free.

Other benefits include increased sound-proofing and enhanced security.

Whilst six colours and finishes are available, for our customers’ home, the white woodgrain was the ideal option to seamlessly transition from their original windows.

Heritage style

‘Heritage’ was chosen from our range of sliding sash windows.

This style has been carefully designed to incorporate traditional period detailing.

Customers can tailor their windows to best suit their home; with a choice of window furniture, sash horns and style of astragal bars.

There is also the option to incorporate ultra-slim sash frames for enhanced sightlines.

The end result maintains the traditional style of this beautiful home, but with all the benefits of modern technology.

Not only have the replacement sliding sash windows improved the look of the property, the windows are maintenance free, secure, easy to use and energy efficient.
