A stunning conservatory for Pots and Pithoi

Window Wise were thrilled to be invited back to our commercial client, Pots and Pithoi, having previously installed a number of windows and doors at their spectacular showroom in Turners Hill, West Sussex.

Their semi-rural location boasts several barns, tea room, gift shop and a courtyard showcasing beautiful Cretan pots of every size and description.

The project for Window Wise this time was to design and build a new conservatory that would replace the existing structure that formed part of their shop, to create a larger, inviting space for customers.

Laying the groundwork

The existing conservatory was removed in order to complete the required groundwork.

This included using Freshfield Lane traditional Sussex stock bricks that would be in keeping with the rural setting and converted farm buildings, along with new external steps.

Business as usual

Part of working on a commercial project is ensuring that the business can continue to function whilst the work is taking place. Our experienced team is used to working in a tidy and efficient manner to ensure that this is possible

Whilst some areas were closed to the public to adhere with health and safety requirements, the shop and courtyard display areas remained open throughout the duration of the work, which was approximately eight weeks from start to finish.

Loggia columns

The style of the chosen conservatory perfectly complements its environment and the wonderful Cretan pot that stands as its centrepiece.

A number of insulated loggia columns give a traditional, almost grand feel to the construction.

Understated grey

The conservatory is finished in Anthracite Grey powder paint coated aluminium, which gives it real presence, yet it sits very comfortably alongside traditional brick and tile buildings that surround it.

The rich grey complements the warmth of the bricks for the base work, which successfully tie in with the converted rural buildings on site.

Sunburst feature

The glazed gable end incorporates a sunburst feature that gives a dramatic focal point and enhances the feeling of light and space in this stunning construction.

Classic roof

The fully glazed hipped and pitched Ultraframe ‘Classic’ roof floods the space with light.

Climate glass ensures that the temperature within the conservatory is regulated.

This technology manages the transmission of light and heat along with heat loss, to achieve a comfortable and energy efficient environment.

High-end finish

The roof is finished with a box gutter for a clean, simple profile.

There is an insulated internal ceiling pelmet to house electric roof vents and ceiling lights.

Stunning example

We are pleased to report that our client is as delighted with the result as we are:

The new conservatory at Turners Hill is a stunning example of a contemporary conservatory.

For me, it was important to replace the former building with a spacious construction, which would bring all the benefits of modern technology, but with an understated elegance. It needed to fit within its surroundings and alongside our beautiful pots.

Window Wise have delivered on all counts. They were creative in their approach and efficient to work with. I am delighted.
