Replacement roofs

Transform your conservatory, orangery or home extension with a replacement roof.

A new roof can be a simple and cost-effective way to improve the appearance, comfort and energy efficiency of your home. There are a huge range of stylish options available to you, from fully glazed to solid tiled roofs, and everything in between. Any shape and configuration of roof can be replaced, including flat, lean to, gable end, double-hipped and p-shaped roofs.

Our expert team will advise on the suitability of your existing structure to support a new roof, to ensure that this investment in your home does not turn out to be a false economy.

Please note: If you are replacing a glass or polycarbonate roof with a solid or tiled conservatory roof, this will be subject to Building Regulation approval. This would be classed as a ‘change in energy status’ and ‘material alteration’ triggering a Building Regulations application. It is important to get Building Regulation approval as certification will most likely be requested by a conveyancing surveyor if you should decide to sell your house. Not having a completion certificate could potentially hold up the sale, resulting in a retrospective application being submitted which may or may not be accepted.

A fully glazed roof is the natural choice for upgrading an existing conservatory, and will allow the light to flood in.

You won’t just benefit from a refreshed look. Our insulated, solar control coated, performance glazing will maintain a comfortable temperature, year round. No more overheating in the summer or freezing in the winter.

Our Classic glazed roofs have a traditional look, complementing period homes. Or, for fewer support bars and a lantern-style appearance, our Ultrasky roof could be the perfect answer.

If you’re seeking privacy, or have found a fully glazed roof too bright, then a partially glazed roof could be a great investment.

Ideal for both conservatories and home extensions, solid and glazed panels are arranged in a configuration to suit your room.

Our performance glass insulates your home, reduces glare and minimises temperature fluctuations. The insulated, solid panels can either be in a smooth, contemporary style (our Livinroof range) or tiled to blend in with your home’s existing roof (our Ultraroof option).

Our solid roofs work equally well with the glazed walls of an existing conservatory or the more solid construction of a home extension.

They create a more private, cosy room, and have superb levels of insulation. Fitting one of our solid roofs is also cheaper and less disruptive than traditional building methods.

Solid roof replacements are available in our contemporarily styled, Livinroof range. Or you can opt for a tiled Ultraroof to match the appearance of your home’s main roof.

The ceilings are plastered, so you can paint them to blend in with your home’s décor.

Unlike the leaky flat roofs of the past, modern flat roofs are a fantastic choice for home extensions.

Your replacement roof can be fitted with Ultrasky Flat Skylights. With their edge-to-edge glass and slim frames, they look stunning and allow the light to flood in.

For a more dramatic look, try our Ultrasky Lanterns. Their timeless style flatters any age of home and will give your room both light and height.

Glazing options

We install the Climate range of conservatory roof glass in all our replacement roofs.

Climate glass combines solar reflection and thermal insulation while reducing damaging UV rays that can fade furnishings and fabrics.

Climate is engineered for use in all our glazed extensions ; by using Climate not only is glare substantially reduced, your glazed extension will be warmer in winter and cooler in the summer.  Climate also features a self-clean coating so that dirt and grime are washed away with the rain.

The Climate glass range is available in : Climate Ecoclean Clear, Climate Ecoclean Blue, Climate Ecoclean Neutral Sunshield, Climate Ecoclean Blue Sunshield and Climate Ecoclean Aqua Sunshield.

If ventilation is a problem in your existing room, then a replacement roof can help to resolve the issue.

Ventilation is rarely needed for our solid or partially glazed roofs, which insulate your home against the extremes of hot and cold.

If you opt for fully glazed, roof vents are an excellent way of increasing ventilation. They can help to cool your room in the summer and reduce condensation in colder weather. Electric opening systems provide an easy way of controlling your ventilation.

A replacement roof can provide you with new options for lighting your room (and for fitting loudspeakers).

Various lighting options will be available, depending on the amount of glazing you have in your roof. For example, spotlights can be fitted into the pelmet and roof ridge for fully glazed roofs. Solid roofs can benefit from extra spotlights or pendant lighting.

We’ll help you choose the perfect finishing touches for your replacement roof.

This might include ball finials or decorative cornices – reflecting the design of your current roof, or creating a fabulous new look.
