Replacement bay windows in Haywards Heath

We were delighted when friends of Mr and Mrs Norden recommended they come to us for replacement bay windows.

The existing, timber windows in their characterful 1930s home were deteriorating. Particularly their fabulous series of large bay windows.

Moving to PVCu

Mr and Mrs Norden were keen to retain the authentic appearance of their wooden, flush sash windows.

However, living on a busy road, they were less keen on the traffic noise. The ongoing maintenance of the timber windows was also becoming problematic.

Therefore, replacement PVCu windows were the obvious choice.

We were careful to choose a flush sash option which closely matched the original windows. We opted for Platinum NRG windows with A rated energy efficiency, minimising the noise and cold coming into their home.

The beauty, and bother, of bays

The dominant feature of this beautiful property are the five bay windows, distributed over two floors of the house.

These impressive bays create a challenge when it comes to replacing the windows, because they are integral to the structural stability of the walls.

Much careful planning was required to ensure we fully supported the walls throughout the installation process.

Quieter, warmer and lower maintenance

The new windows have significantly reduced the noise pollution within Mr and Mrs Norden’s home. The increased insulation of modern windows is also helping to keep their heating costs down.

Thanks to their move to PVCu, they have dramatically reduced the maintenance their windows require. The paintbrush is now reserved for the remaining art deco style woodwork above the front door!

Despite these modern conveniences, the windows still retain the authentic, geometric style of their predecessors.
