We are delighted to announce that we have now added the Bowater DUO composite door range to our collection of stylish and secure front doors.
These double rebate, composite doors are designed to look fabulous and provide you with decades of low maintenance, high security and energy efficient service.
A “composite” door is made up of more than one material. The materials are selected based on the functional requirements from the door and budgetary considerations. They are then fused together, the result being a strong and stable door which will outlive and outperform traditional timber doors.
The DUO composite door has a core of high density, CFC-free, polyurethane foam packed into a steel reinforced framework. The outer skin of the door is a glass reinforced polymer (GRP).
When a door is “double rebate” this means that the door and the frame overlap each other.
Compression seals can be fitted to both surfaces (ie the door and the frame). This gives the door an incredibly secure and weathertight fit – and is a significant improvement when compared to single rebate doors.
A quality, British product
We’re careful to only select the best products to offer our clients – our excellent reputation depends on it!
The DUO composite doors are made by Bowater doors, a manufacturer based in the UK. Each door is handcrafted in their workshop in the Midlands to strict quality standards. All doors meet or exceed British Standards including PAS23 (BS6375) and PAS24.
A wide range of styles and finishes, either traditional or contemporary
The DUO door is available in a variety of styles to perfectly suit the age and personality of your home. You can tailor your door to your exact requirements with the wide range of woodgrain effects, colours and glazing options which are available.
And, for the finishing touches, you can choose door hardware from a selection of modern and traditional designs in black, white, chrome or gold.
Keeping warmth in and weather out
The DUO composite door has a U-Value of 1.6 or less. The “U-Value” is an assessment of how good a material is at insulating. It measures the amount of energy lost, so the lower the value the better.
The DUO door achieves such a low U-Value by being 54% thicker than a standard composite door, with a high density core. It’s also thanks to the double rebate with its accompanying double compression seals. This means you can keep the heat in and keep out bad weather or noise – so you can
When glazed, DUO doors use triple glazing to allow light in (and you to see out) without compromising its energy efficiency.
Your DUO door won’t just be an attractive addition to your home, it’ll also be a highly secure and robust guard against unwanted intruders.
With its extra strong construction (it’s 68mm thick), steel reinforcement and multipoint locking, the DUO door will give you the peace of mind that you are safe and secure in your home.
The beauty of a composite door is that it offers the look and feel of a timber door without the upkeep.
The external surface of the DUO composite door is made from a glass reinforced polymer (GRP). This is a very durable material which will ensure that your new door keeps its colour and condition for many years to come.
