A sympathetic window replacement for a farmhouse in Staplefield
We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work at Mr and Mrs Hunter’s lovely farmhouse in Staplefield.
Whilst they are new customers to Window Wise, the Hunters knew of our work through a recommendation from friends in the village.
Therefore, they could be confident we were the right people to undertake the sympathetic renovation to their home that they were so keen to achieve.
Low maintenance, full character
The most important aspect of replacing their windows was to maintain the original features and appearance of their rural home.
This needed to be accomplished with two vital caveats – the Hunters needed to ensure their home was more energy efficient, and that their new windows would be low maintenance.

They are designed not only to emulate traditional period windows in their style and functionality, the material is engineered to create a realistic woodgrain effect.
Their authenticity is such that it is difficult to tell them apart from real timber windows.

Whilst we can offer a range of colours and finishes, for Mr and Mrs Hunter a simple white woodgrain was the perfect option to transition from their original windows.
Easy to maintain
PVCu windows are incredibly low-maintenance.
In rural areas such as Staplefield, deposits from traffic will be minimal and therefore the most common cleaning requirement will be to remove green algae that forms with the changing seasons.
With regular, light cleaning, they will continue to look as fresh as the day they were installed.

To make cleaning as easy as possible, inward tilting sashes are standard, allowing cleaning of the outsides of your windows from the inside.

One of the main priorities for the Hunters was for their replacement windows to ensure their home is as energy efficient as possible over the coming years.
PVCu sliding sash windows provide excellent thermal efficiency, with an energy A-rating, so they are completely draught-free.
When their home is viewed from the rear, it’s clear to see why thermal performance of the windows is so important to the Hunters.
Multiple windows let light flood into their farmhouse and give them lovely views of their garden, but they needed sufficiently well-insulated windows to maintain a comfortable, cosy environment.
We’re thrilled that Mr and Mrs Hunter have found a huge difference in the heat retention within their home, following our work at their property.
